Actors Shefali Shah and Fardeen Khan are set to share screen space for the first time in Netflix’s upcoming period drama series ‘Koke’, adding to the growing excitement around the ambitious project backed by producer Ektaa Kapoor. The series is expected to premiere on the streaming platform in early 2027.
According to a UNI report, ‘Koke’ is being developed as a large-scale period drama featuring an ensemble cast that will also include several well-known television actors. While the makers have kept details about the plot and characters under wraps, the project is said to be mounted on a grand scale, making it one of the most anticipated streaming releases currently in production.
The series will be directed by Nupur Asthana, known for her work on the popular web series ‘Four More Shots Please!’. Asthana was also previously attached to direct the second season of ‘The Royals’ before reportedly stepping away from the project.
The announcement marks another major milestone in Khan’s successful return to the entertainment industry. The actor was recently seen in ‘Housefull 5’, which featured a star-studded ensemble cast including Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Sanjay Dutt, Nana Patekar, Jackie Shroff, Dino Morea, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nargis Fakhri, Chitrangada Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Soundarya Sharma, Chunky Pandey, Nikitin Dheer, and Johnny Lever.
Shah, meanwhile, continues to expand her impressive portfolio of projects. The acclaimed actress will next be seen in ‘Hisaab’, a heist thriller directed by her husband Vipul Amrutlal Shah. The film also stars Jaideep Ahlawat and Abhishek Banerjee in key roles. She is also part of Rishab Shetty’s much-awaited historical drama ‘The Pride of Bharat – Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’.
