SATCAB 2026 to spotlight future of broadcasting, OTT, digital media

SATCAB Symposium 2026 early next week is set to bring together some of the biggest voices from India’s broadcasting, digital media and technology ecosystem, with a strong focus on emerging trends, policy direction and business transformation.

Scheduled to be held on March 24 and 25 in New Delhi along with the Convergence India Expo, the two-day event will explore the evolving dynamics of the media and entertainment industry through a series of high-impact sessions and discussions.

Organised by Aavishkar Media Group in association with All India Aavishkar Dish Antenna Sangh and Media Club of India, the Symposium will open with a welcome address by Aavishkar Group founder and patriarch Dr. A.K. Rastogi, followed by keynote addresses from Prithul Kumar, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting and Dr. Deepali Sharma, Advisor (B&CS), TRAI.

The first day will focus on the structural shifts reshaping the industry. The opening session, ‘The Evolving Edge: Maximizing Broadcasters, DPOs and LCO Potential in the current media landscape’, will examine how traditional distribution players can stay relevant alongside OTT platforms and short-form content. Moderated by law firm Bharucha & Partners’ partner Kaushik Moitra, the panel will feature Zee’s Anil Malhotra, GTPL-Hathway’s Yatin Gupta, Dangal Play’s Akshat Singhal, Aamir Mulani of PlayboxTV, Nxt Media Group’s Hemlata Sharma and KCCL COO Padmakumar, who will discuss leveraging last-mile connectivity and local presence to tap into new growth opportunities.

This will be followed by ‘Reinventing News: Sustainable Models for Broadcast and Digital’, moderated by former ABP Network CEO and IBDF Secretary-general Avinash Pandey, with panelists Rabindra Narayan of GTC Network, News 24’s Sushant S Mohan, Live Times’ Dilip Singh, Upendrra Rai of Bharat Express, Times Network’s Ashish Sehgal and Koreel Lahiri Chief Of Strategy & Innovation of NDTV. The session will address key challenges in the news ecosystem, including over-reliance on advertising, revenue diversion to big-tech platforms and the need for sustainable business models.

A third session on ‘Measuring the Various Screens: How Robust & Reliable?’ will take on the challenge of cross-platform audience measurement. Moderated by MSO Hathway’s Ajay Singh, the panel will include Chrome DM’s Pankaj Krishna, TAM Media’s L.V. Krishnan, Dabur India’s Rajiv Dubey, Madison Media’s Vikram Sakhuja and Comscore’s Vivek Jaiswal, who will deliberate on ensuring transparency and reliability in audience data across TV, OTT, mobile and Connected TV platforms.

On March 25, Day 2 will open with a keynote address by Gaurav Dwivedi, CEO of Prasar Bharati, focusing on the future of broadcasting technologies.

A key session on direct-to-mobile (D2M) broadcasting will explore how the technology can enable content delivery without internet connectivity. Moderated by Sunil, President of the Broadcast Engineering Society, the panel will feature Chrome DM’s Pankaj Krishna, Tejas Networks’ Prashant M Maru, former DDG of Doordarshan CK Jain, Synamdeia’s Hocine Belhous and Vivek Malhotra* of India Today group.

A fireside chat titled ‘Then, Now, Next: A Journalist’s Journey Through Credibility, Change, and the Future of News’ will feature veteran journalist Sudhir Chaudhary in conversation with media industry veteran and entrepreneur Amitabh Srivastava, offering insights into the evolving role of journalism in a digital-first era.

The concluding session, ‘Evolving Economy of Live Events & Sports’, moderated by Hemlata Sharma, will feature Shakunt Malhotra of appear, News 24’s Sushant S Mohan, Dr.Rushindra Sinha of Global Esports and Ashish Srivastava of Glazer Labs focusing on how digital broadcasting, sponsorships and immersive technologies are transforming the live events and sports ecosystem into a significant economic driver.

SATCAB 2026 is backed by leading industry players, with Zee as the Title Partner, and Sony Pictures Networks India, GTPL Hathway and NXTDigital as Associate Partners. Supporting partners include GTC Network, PlayboxTV, Sanskar TV and Satsang, while Indian Broadcasting World joins as the Digital Media Partner.

With a comprehensive agenda covering broadcasting, OTT, policy, technology and monetisation, SATCAB Symposium 2026 is expected to serve as a key platform for dialogue, collaboration and forward-looking industry insights.
