The annual SATCAB Symposium, organised by the Aavishkar Media Group, is back with its latest edition that will be held yesterday, featuring senior government officials as keynote speakers, apart from the Indian M&E industry veterans and stalwarts.
Themed ‘Challenges & Opportunities in Evolving Distribution Landscape’, this year’s symposium, to be held at the Bharat Mandapam, has various sessions featuring speakers who discuss the varied nuances of the complex Indian M&E sector.
According to PwC ‘Global Entertainment & Media Outlook 2024–28’ report, the Indian M&E industry is projected to grow at a CAGR of 8.3 percent to hit INR 3,65,000 crore (USD 19.2 bn), outpacing the global rate of 4.6 percent. Senior govt. officials explain how positive and light-touch regulations can help reach that goal and PM Modi’s dream of making the country a global content hub be realised.
Sanjiv Shankar, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and Lt. Col. Abhishek Singh, Joint Advisor, TRAI share the government and regulator’s perspective, while Dr. AK Rastogi, Founder of the Aavishkar Media Group, will lay out the tone and tenor of the discussions for the day in his welcome address, bringing forth his experiences of several decades in his observations.
While Sangar Zanjad, SVP, Research & Strategy, ZEEL, will hold forth on his company’s future plans, industry veterans like Zee’s Anil Malhotra, GTPL’s Yatin Gupta, KCCL’s Padmakumar, Ajay Khamankar of UCN Cable Network and Satyaprakash Singh of ONEOTT iNTERTAINMENT will discuss the challenges of distribution as new techs continue their onslaught on traditional distribution methods in a separate session, which will be moderated by Chrome DM’s Pankaj Krishna.
PTC Network’s Rabindra Narayan, Bharat Express’ Upendra Rai, Live Times’ Dilip Singh and ZMCL’s Hemlata Sharma will try to evaluate the news business, while connecting the CTV dots in a session that would be moderated by ABP Network’s former CEO Avinash Pandey.
