The upcoming comedy film starring Sanjay Dutt, Aayush Sharma and Annu Kapoor has officially been titled ‘My Punjabi Nikaah’. The film has entered the production stage, as revealed by filmmaker Sohail Khan in a recent update on social media.
According to an IANS report, Khan, who is backing the project, announced the title along with a detailed note expressing his gratitude to several state leaders for their support. Alongside the three lead actors, the film will also introduce a “beautiful mysterious girl”, although her name has not yet been disclosed.
In his Instagram post, Khan shared glimpses of his meetings with dignitaries including the Governor of Punjab, Gulab Chand Kataria, Chief Minister of Haryana Nayab Singh Saini and the Chief Minister of Punjab Bhagwant Mann.
He wrote, “My journey of my next film titled ‘My Punjabi Nikaah’, starring Sanjay Dutt, Annu Kapoor, Aayush Sharma and introducing a beautiful mysterious girl has commenced with meeting the Governor Of Punjab, Gulab Chand Kataria Ji who was very kind and gracious while giving his blessings for the film.”
The film, going by its title, seems to be set against a cultural backdrop involving themes of interfaith romance or marriage, with a narrative that is expected to be heart-warming, light-hearted and infused with Punjabi flavours.
Khan, in his note, expressed immense gratitude for the love and support extended by the political and administrative circles in Punjab and Haryana.
In addition to ‘My Punjabi Nikaah’, Sharma is also working on another untitled project.
