Renowned media professional Sameer Gogate has joined JioStar as the Business Head of Colors, bringing with him extensive experience in broadcast media, TV, and movie production. Gogate’s appointment marks a significant step for JioStar in bolstering its leadership team to drive innovation and growth in the ever-evolving entertainment landscape, The Economic Times reported.
Gogate’s illustrious career spans over two decades, during which he has made significant contributions to the media and entertainment industry. Most recently, he served as General Manager of India Productions at BBC Studios, where he oversaw the Indian adaptations of globally acclaimed formats such as ‘Criminal Justice’, ‘Broken News’ (Press), and ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’ (Dancing With the Stars). He also spearheaded the creation of original productions like ‘Highway Love’, ‘Ishq in the Air’, ‘School of Lies’, and the widely celebrated ‘Shekhar Home’.
Speaking on his tenure at BBC Studios, industry insiders credit Gogate for successfully blending global storytelling with local sensibilities, a strategy that delivered both critical and commercial success.
