The latest ‘Weekend Ka Vaar’ episode of ‘Bigg Boss 19’ turned into a celebration of Indian women’s cricket glory as host Salman Khan welcomed cricket icons Jhulan Goswami and Anjum Chopra to the show. The special episode was dedicated to the Indian women’s team’s maiden ICC Women’s World Cup victory, which has sparked a nationwide wave of pride and admiration.
According to UNI report, Salman Khan greeted the two former Indian cricket stars with immense warmth, applauding their legacy and the team’s historic triumph. During their interaction, the Bollywood superstar mentioned how Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur had once promised Jhulan that they would bring the World Cup home. Recalling that emotional moment, Jhulan said, “Jab woh trophy leke mere samne aaye, it was the biggest moment in my cricket career.”
When asked by Salman about the biggest change this victory could bring, Anjum Chopra responded with optimism. She said, “Jo parents hai unki daughters jo hai woh next Jhulan, Smriti, Harman bane. Wahi ek cheez hai joh drive karegi next generation ko.” Her words beautifully summed up the hope that this historic win would inspire countless young girls across India to pursue cricket with passion and pride.
Later, Jhulan Goswami shared pictures from her visit on X (formerly Twitter), posing with Salman Khan and Anjum Chopra. She captioned the post, “This month so far has been filled with many unforgettable nights, and this was definitely one of those nights. Had such a lovely time sharing the stage with Salman Khan and Anjum Chopra on ‘Bigg Boss 19‘ Weekend Ka Vaar.”
The Indian women’s team, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, clinched the ICC Women’s World Cup title on November 2, defeating South Africa by 52 runs. Following the win, the team presented the trophy to commentators Jhulan Goswami, Anjum Chopra, and Mithali Raj — three pioneers whose contributions laid the foundation for women’s cricket in India.
The victory has also reignited buzz around Anushka Sharma’s much-awaited biopic Chakda Xpress, based on Jhulan Goswami’s life. The film had been delayed due to creative disagreements between production house Clean Slate Filmz and Netflix, but the recent success of the women’s team has reportedly prompted fresh internal discussions about its release.
With this emotional ‘Bigg Boss 19‘ episode, the spotlight once again shines on the women who changed Indian cricket forever — celebrating not just a win, but an era of empowerment and inspiration.
