Discovery has announced the elevation of Sai Abishek P R to the role of Head of Factual Entertainment, Lifestyle & Kids, South Asia, marking a significant development in the company’s strategic content leadership across the region. In this expanded position, Abishek will now spearhead content strategy, programming, and business growth for all three verticals — factual, lifestyle, and kids — in South Asia.
The promotion was confirmed by Abishek himself in a recent LinkedIn update, where he shared, “I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Head of Factual Entertainment, Lifestyle & Kids, South Asia at Warner Bros. Discovery!”
Abishek has been a key force within the Discovery fold for more than eight years, rising through the ranks and serving in pivotal roles including Head of Factual & Lifestyle Cluster, South Asia and Director – Original Content, Factual & Lifestyle Entertainment, South Asia under the earlier Discovery Inc. banner. His creative oversight and market acumen have been central to the success of several original productions and regionally relevant content initiatives.
Backed by a deep industry background, Sai Abishek’s career spans major media and broadcasting companies. He has previously worked with Fox International Channels, A&E Networks | TV18, INX News Pvt Ltd, ET Now (Bennett, Coleman and Co. Ltd.), and CNBC-TV18, bringing a well-rounded perspective to content curation and channel strategy. Known for his keen understanding of viewer preferences in the Indian subcontinent, his leadership is expected to drive new synergies and audience engagement across Warner Bros. Discovery’s diverse content portfolio.
His elevation comes at a time when Warner Bros. Discovery is focused on building deeper regional relevance while tapping into the fast-evolving consumer entertainment landscape in South Asia.
