When it comes to comedy dramas, few can match Rowan Atkinson’s effortless ability to make audiences laugh without uttering a single word. The iconic star, best known for his timeless portrayal of Mr. Bean, is all set to return to screens with Netflix’s upcoming festive comedy ‘Man vs Baby’, slated to premiere on December 11.
According to an ANI report, Netflix recently announced the series with a set of exclusive stills, giving fans a glimpse into Atkinson’s next comic adventure. The official post from Netflix UK & Ireland on X read, “Silent night? Not likely. Rowan Atkinson returns in MAN VS. BABY. Coming 11 December.”
The four-part series serves as a follow-up to Atkinson’s 2022 hit ‘Man vs Bee’, where he played Trevor Bingley — a well-meaning but accident-prone man who caused chaos while house-sitting a luxury mansion. In this new installment, Trevor trades his stressful job for a quieter life as a school caretaker. However, as fate would have it, his plans for a calm Christmas are turned upside down when a lucrative offer to house-sit a high-end London penthouse collides with an unexpected twist — he’s left in charge of a baby from the school nativity play.
The official synopsis reads, “After a job looking after a high-tech mansion ended in disaster thanks to an irritating insect in Man vs Bee, Trevor Bingley (Rowan Atkinson) has left the stressful world of housesitting for the quieter life of a school caretaker. That is, until a lucrative offer to look after a luxury London penthouse over Christmas proves too tempting to resist. But on the last day of term, when no one comes to collect the Baby Jesus from the school nativity, Trevor finds himself with another undersized and very unexpected companion. With a penthouse to protect and a baby to burp, will Trevor be able to have the calm Christmas he hopes for, or will festivities descend into chaos?”
With Atkinson’s signature slapstick style, ‘Man vs Baby’ promises another dose of hilarious misadventures wrapped in festive warmth. Fans of Mr. Bean and Man vs Bee can look forward to yet another laugh riot as the actor once again turns ordinary chaos into comic brilliance.
