JioStar has bolstered its commercial leadership with the appointment of Robin Samuel as manager, entertainment revenue operations, adding an experienced advertising professional to its monetisation team as the broadcast major sharpens its revenue strategy across entertainment properties.
The appointment was announced through a LinkedIn post update, where Samuel shared details of his new role at JioStar. He joins the company after spending nearly 13 years at Disney Star, where he worked across ad sales operations and print media sales, managing revenue operations for key channels and navigating complex advertiser and agency ecosystems.
In his new role, Samuel will oversee entertainment revenue operations at JioStar, drawing on more than a decade of hands-on experience across ad sales, account management and operational strategy. His appointment comes at a time when the merged entity is focused on streamlining internal processes and unlocking greater value from its expansive entertainment portfolio.
Samuel’s career spans broadcast, print and media operations. He began his professional journey in sales coordination at Pearl Media, followed by operations roles at Mahuaa Media. He later moved to Disney Star, where he steadily rose through the ranks over more than a decade, playing a key role in strengthening backend ad sales systems and supporting large-scale revenue operations.
At JioStar, Samuel is expected to play a critical role in ensuring that revenue operations are tightly aligned with business priorities. With a seasoned operator now handling the mechanics of entertainment monetisation, the move signals JioStar’s intent to run a sharper, more efficient commercial engine as it deepens engagement with advertisers and agencies across the market.
