93.5 Red FM, one of India’s leading private radio networks, proudly marks the 15th anniversary of its much-anticipated annual event, ‘Red Raas’. Known for being Ahmedabad’s largest Navratri celebration, ‘Red Raas’ has become a vibrant festival of garba, culture, and community since its inception in 2009. This year’s festivities will take place from October 3 to October 12, 2024, at the Milan Party Plot in Ahmedabad.
Red FM continues its tradition of hosting a week-long celebration, immersing attendees in a mix of music, dance, and cultural performances. As part of this year’s milestone event, the station has launched a special garba anthem titled ‘Vhalam Hun Kantadi Re,’ performed by the talented Shirley Setia. The empowering anthem celebrates the strength, independence, and grace of the modern woman, portraying her as a new-age heroine navigating life with confidence and joy.
The music video for the anthem is filmed against the stunning backdrop of Ahmedabad’s streets and a 200-year-old heritage haveli, highlighting the region’s rich cultural heritage. The song’s composition blends traditional elements with a modern beat, ensuring it resonates with today’s audience. ‘Rajat Dholakia’, known for his work on films like ‘Firaaq’ and ‘Delhi 6’, along with Saumya Joshi, the writer of the National Award-winning film ‘Hellaro’, contributed to the creation of this anthem under the mentorship of the composing duo ‘Sumant’ and ‘Aalap’.
Nisha Narayanan, COO and Director of Red FM and Magic FM, expressed her excitement: “Red Raas has always been our effort to celebrate tradition with contemporary music and vibes. Last year’s anthem Aave Jo Rasiya became an internet sensation, and we were humbled by the love it received. This year, we want to emphasize that Navratri is more than just dancing – it’s about coming together as a community and uplifting one another.”
Red FM invites everyone to join in this grand celebration, honoring both tradition and modern artistry, and to celebrate Navratri in true community spirit.
