India TV Chief Editor Rajat Sharma was felicitated with the special honour as the ‘Most Influential Indian’ at an event themed ‘Most Influential Indians’, organized at the top of London Bridge, on the eve of India’s 75th Independence.
The event was organized by ELITE Magazine under the leadership of MD Puraskar Thadani. Sharma was accompanied by Ritu Dhawan, MD, India TV, at the prestigious event. Other people felicitated included the likes of Sonu Sood and Sadhguru.
An official statrement from India TV said the love and trust of millions of viewers have made India TV the most popular Hindi news channel in the country and this was one of the reasons behind the honour conferred on Sharma.
Sharma’s iconic show ‘Aap Ki Adalat‘ has remained the most favourite show of the country for the last 28 years.
On receiving the award, Sharma said “Any award always gives a sense of responsibility. This award inspires me to fulfil the responsibility given to me as well.”
At the London Bridge event, while expressing the pride every Indian feels on celebrating ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, he added, “Together everyone should say ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ as it is a proud moment in itself.”
