Punjabi actors Ammy Virk and Sargun Mehta- starrer romantic-drama film ‘Qismat 2’ will have its digital premiere on Zee5 on October 29, the streamer has announced.
The film, directed by Jagdeep Sidhu, was released in theatres on September 23, which takes up the theme of unrequited love from ‘Qismat’ (2018) and follows the story of Shiv and Bani once again.
The streaming platform recently made its foray into Punjabi-language content. The platform had launched the ‘Rajj Ke Vekho’campaign, which promised to premiere straight-from-the-theatres titles from Zee Studios online.
The success of the Ammy Virk, Sonam Bajwa film ‘Puaada’ on the platform was followed by that of ‘Jinne Jamme Saare Nikamme’, directed by Kenny Chhabra, which became the first Punjabi film to be launched on Zee5.
Manish Kalra, chief business officer, Zee5 India, said, “Zee5 has always aimed at offering its viewers content basis their taste and preference. With an aim to strengthen Zee5’s position in the Punjab market and ensure we present the latest content to Punjabi viewers across the country, we have brought forth ‘Qismat 2’, which will appeal to the masses.”
