Prime Video unveils ‘Uppu Kappurambu’ music album

Ahead of the worldwide premiere of its upcoming Telugu Original film ‘Uppu Kappurambu’, Prime Video on Thursday launched the film’s evocative music album in partnership with Believe India.

Featuring three original tracks composed by Sweekar Agasthi, the album blends rustic charm with emotional depth, reflecting the quirky and heartfelt tone of the small-town satire.

According to a press release by Prime Video, the album — now available on Amazon Music, Spotify, JioSaavn, Apple Music and all major platforms — features vocals by acclaimed artists Sean Roldan, Anurag Kulkarni and Anthony Daasan. From the celebratory Nomilala to the aching Yaadunaavo and the riotous title track Uppu Kappurambu, the soundtrack provides a vivid musical lens into the film’s fictional village of Chitti Jayapuram.

Singer Sean Roldan described Nomilala as “an anthem for letting go,” capturing the film’s spirit of embracing chaos and community. Anurag Kulkarni, who lends his voice to Yaadunaavo, noted how the song channels a child’s longing and resilience, calling it “tender and poetic.” Meanwhile, Anthony Daasan praised the title track’s rawness and vibrant energy, adding, “It’s wild, grounded, and was a total riot to record.”

The album’s lyrical credits go to Ravi Krishna Vissapragada, S Attavur Rahim and Raghuram Dronavajjala. Shilpa Sharda, Director of Believe Artist Services for India and Southeast Asia, highlighted the project’s significance as the label’s first collaboration with Amazon India. “This album challenges creative norms while staying rooted in cultural authenticity. It marks a bold, meaningful start to what we hope is a long-standing partnership,” she said.

Uppu Kappurambu tells the story of Apoorva (Keerthy Suresh), an idealistic village head navigating a bizarre crisis in Chitti Jayapuram — a shortage of burial plots. Alongside Chinna (played by Suhas), a graveyard caretaker with secrets of his own, she takes on entrenched traditions with grit and humour. Directed by Ani I.V. Sasi and produced by Radhika Lavu under Ellanar Films, the film also stars Babu Mohan, Shatru, and Talluri Rameshwari.

The movie is set to premiere exclusively on Prime Video in India and in over 240 countries and territories on July 4.
