Prime Video India spotlights 13 must-watch horror titles

Prime Video India has unveiled a curated list of 13 horror movies and series available on the streaming platform, showcasing stories that span Indian regional cinema as well as international productions.

The selection, unveiled yesterday via a media statement, highlights the diversity of horror storytelling — from folklore-inspired myths and supernatural thrillers to psychological and investigative mysteries —available to viewers on the platform.

According to the platform, the collection brings together titles in multiple languages including Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Bengali, Malayalam and English, offering audiences a broad range of horror experiences ahead of the next Friday the 13th.

Among the featured titles is ‘Tumbbad’, the critically acclaimed 2018 period horror film that explores the destructive nature of greed through a cursed ancestral secret hidden in a rain-soaked village. The film is widely noted for its rich mythology and atmospheric storytelling.

The list also includes the supernatural thriller series ‘Khauf’, which follows a woman who moves into a Delhi hostel only to discover that her room is haunted by a sinister presence. The Hindi-language series premiered on Prime Video in 2025.

Another title in the line-up is the Tamil horror series ‘The Village’, where a man searching for his missing family encounters cursed forces in a remote rural settlement. The show is based on a graphic horror novel and premiered on the platform in 2023.

Supernatural suspense drama ‘Dhootha’ also features in the list, following a journalist who discovers newspaper clippings predicting deadly events before they occur. The series blends investigative storytelling with paranormal elements.

Other films and shows highlighted by Prime Video India include ‘Honey’‘Heretic’Yavarum Nalam/13B: Fear Has a New Address’‘Bhoot’Immaculate’‘Black’Tantiram’‘Vadakkan’ and Andhera’.

Together, the titles represent a mix of subgenres — ranging from occult and folk horror to psychological and sci-fi-tinged thrillers — underscoring how horror storytelling continues to evolve across languages and cultures on streaming platforms.

Prime Video said the curated slate is designed to cater to both fans seeking quick scares and viewers interested in deeper explorations of cultural fears and myths through cinema and series.
