VIDAA, which is a global smart TV operating system provider and operates under brand name V, has announced the launch of its TV channels offering in India.
According to a LinkedIn post yesterday by the company, it is rolling out 17 locally curated FAST channels for Indian audiences. The channels will be available on V-powered smart TVs and aim to deliver a seamless, lean-back viewing experience with instant access to local entertainment, without the need for subscriptions or logins.
The company highlighted that the India launch marks an important milestone in V’s FAST expansion across high-growth markets.
The launch is being driven in partnership with RunnTV, a platform that specialises in building and distributing FAST channels for connected TV ecosystems. Founded with the objective of simplifying FAST adoption in emerging markets, RunnTV works closely with OEMs, content owners and platforms to curate, package and distribute free, ad-supported television channels tailored to local audiences. Over the years, RunnTV has positioned itself as a key enabler in the FAST space, helping bring regional and language-focused content to smart TV users through frictionless, TV-first experiences.
With its emphasis on local curation and ease of access, RunnTV’s model aligns with the growing demand for free, linear-style content consumption on connected televisions in India. The partnership allows V to leverage RunnTV’s understanding of regional content dynamics while accelerating its own FAST footprint in the country.
The 17 channels launched under the V brand are designed to cater to diverse entertainment preferences, reflecting India’s multilingual and multi-genre viewing landscape. Together, V and RunnTV aim to tap into India’s expanding smart TV base and the rising appetite for FAST content, positioning the launch as a strategic step toward scalable, advertiser-supported television in the Indian market.
