On the second day of the ongoing World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025, Reliance Foundation’s Founder and Chairperson, Nita Ambani, delivered a compelling keynote on ‘Taking Indian Culture to the World’ at the Jio World Convention Centre (JWCC), Mumbai.
Addressing a packed audience, Ambani celebrated India’s unique blend of sacred traditions and modern spirit, while championing its cultural and civilisational legacy.
This ANI report captures the essence of Nita Ambani’s remarks, which resonated deeply with the audience. “We are a country enriched by the wisdom of its civilisation, but equally energised by the throbbing energy of the world’s youngest population. A country where sacred traditions meet modern dynamism in perfect harmony,” said Ambani. She further emphasised that India, soon to be the world’s third-largest economy, is also asserting its global soft power.
During her speech, Ambani traced India’s deep-rooted cultural contributions, citing how the subcontinent has shaped global understanding in fields ranging from spirituality to science. “India is the origin of OM, the sound of the birth of our universe… the birthplace of zero, shunya, the beginning of the infinite… the land of Yoga and Ayurveda… the beacon of arts and literature,” she said, painting a vivid picture of India’s timeless relevance.
She also referred to foundational figures like Aryabhatta, Adi Shankaracharya, Gautam Buddha, and Mahatma Gandhi to underscore how Indian thought has shaped both scientific discovery and spiritual teachings. “We are a timeless civilisation that gifted humanity with the enduring ideals of truth, non-violence, unity and peace,” she noted.
The Reliance Foundation Chairperson expressed heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for reigniting India’s voice on the global stage. “Somewhere along the way, our voice softened. But now it is rising again, and for that, we owe deep gratitude to our Prime Minister Narendra Modi, whose unwavering vision and leadership have reignited India’s voice with pride and purpose,” Ambani said, acknowledging the government’s role in placing India back into international cultural consciousness.
As part of her remarks, she celebrated young Indian global icons who are carrying forward the country’s rich ethos abroad. “Despite living away from India, young global icons like Anoushka Shankar and Rishabh Sharma in music, Vikas Khanna in cuisine, or Priyanka Chopra in cinema, are holding the spirit of India dear to their hearts,” she added.
WAVES 2025 was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday. The global summit has drawn participation from over 90 countries, with more than 10,000 delegates, 1,000 creators, 300+ companies, and 350+ startups.
