This festival, steeped in tradition and spirituality, is well-known for its significance among newlywed women, and News18 Lokmat is enhancing it with a lively folk dance competition.
Married women across Maharashtra observe the Mangala Gauri vrat with great devotion. During the auspicious month of Shravan, it is a sacred fast that is frequently observed by newlyweds. The Mangalagaur pooja, performed by married ladies, is an important feature of this festival, which is followed by joyful gatherings in which they participate in various games and activities.
As per a press release, News18 Lokmat has expanded on this tradition by hosting a grand folk dance competition for women. This exuberant contest was attended by nine dynamic dance groups from various parts of Maharashtra.
The competition, held to honor Mangala Gauri’s essence, drew enthusiastic participation and praise. Actress Mrinal Kulkarni; renowned Lavani exponent and choreographer Ashish Patil, and actors Shivani Rangole, Sanket Pathak, Suparna Shyam Sanchita Kulkarni and Siddharth Khirid were among the esteemed judges for this competition.
