In a front-page advertisement featured in The Economic Times and Indian Express on February 7, News18 India announced its triumph over rival Aaj Tak, securing the top spot in viewership during the week of the Ram Mandir consecration.
According to the latest data from BARC, News18 India, with 9.48 crore AMAs, outpaced Aaj Tak, which recorded 9.33 crore AMAs during the temple inauguration week (Source: BARC| Metric: AMA’s | TG: NCCS All 15+ | Period: Wk 04’24, All Days, 24 Hrs| Market: HSM | 14 Channels considered).
According to press release from News18, the ad campaign, launched on Wednesday, emphasized News18 India’s significant lead and will extend its reach to social media platforms and trade media.
The channel’s strategic promotion comes after its extensive coverage leading up to the historic consecration ceremony of the Ayodhya Ram Temple on January 22nd.
News18 India‘s special programming, titled ‘Shree Ram Mahaparv,’ comprised 100 hours of non-stop coverage, showcasing the channel’s commitment to delivering comprehensive insights into the cultural, historical, and religious significance of the Ram Temple.
Notably, the coverage featured top anchors conducting live shows from Ayodhya, providing viewers with a unique perspective on this momentous event.
