Netflix will exclusively live-stream ‘COUNTDOWN CONCERT 2026-2027 STARTO to WORLD’ worldwide on December 31, 2026. The year-end concert will feature artists from STARTO ENTERTAINMENT and will be streamed live simultaneously around the world for the first time.

According to an announcement by Netflix today, the concert began in 1996 as a charity event supporting recovery efforts after the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake. It later became an annual tradition for artists and fans to celebrate the end of the year and welcome the New Year together. The concert will mark its 30th anniversary in 2026.

For Netflix, the event will be its first Japan-originated music live event and its first-ever worldwide simultaneous live stream of a year-end countdown concert.

Before the main concert, Netflix and STARTO ENTERTAINMENT will also stream a pre-show in December. The programme will feature artists sharing their thoughts and their journey towards the countdown concert.

A behind-the-scenes programme titled ‘BEHIND the STARTO to WORLD’ is also planned for late January 2027. It will show the preparation, rehearsals and behind-the-scenes work involved in putting the concert together.

The live concert will be available as an archive after the live stream. Details about the performing artists and exact streaming timings will be announced later. Netflix has also said that the streaming content and schedule are subject to change.
