The board of New Delhi Television through a circular dated November 28 approved to restart regular operations of NDTV Profit television channel from December 8, 2023, New Delhi Television (NDTV) said in a stock exchange filing.
“We wish to inform you that the Board of Directors of the Company vide circular resolution dated November 28, 2023 has granted approval to re-commence the regular operations of NDTV Profit channel w.e.f. December 8, 2023,” the regulatory filing stated.
According to a report in the Economic Times yesterday evening, NDTV on June 1, 2017, had informed its shareholders of the temporary discontinuation of regular business programming on the business news channel, NDTV Profit.
“NDTV does not rule out reviving a business channel when the circumstances are appropriate,” the ET report quoted the then press release issued by NDTV.
Billionaire Gautam Adani-led Adani Group last year announced the acquisition of a 27.26 percent equity stake in NDTV from founders Prannoy Roy and Radhika Roy. The acquisition was completed on December 30, 2022, on the block deal window of the NSE. It now owns a 64.71 percent stake in the TV news company.
