The Multiplex Association of India (MAI) has announced that National Cinema Day will be celebrated on September 20, 2024, offering cinephiles across the country the opportunity to watch films for just Rs 99 per admission. Over 4,000 screens, including major chains like PVR INOX, Cinepolis, Miraj, Movie Time, and Delite, will participate in this nationwide event.
The lineup of films features a diverse mix of blockbusters, highly anticipated sequels, and classics. Moviegoers can enjoy new releases like ‘Yudhra’, ‘Kahan Shuru Kahan Khatam’, ‘Navra Maza Navsacha – 2’, ‘Sucha Soorma’, ‘Never Let Go’, and ‘Transformers One’. Recent hits like The ‘Buckingham Murders’ and ‘Ardaas Sarbat De Bhale Di’ will also be screened, PTI reported.
The popular horror-comedy ‘Stree 2’, which has been a box office success since its release on August 15, is part of the lineup. Additionally, re-releases of beloved films such as ‘Tumbbad’ (2018) and ‘Veer Zaara’ (2004) will add to the cinematic experience.
“This special occasion brings audiences of all ages together for a day of cinematic bliss,” MAI stated, describing it as a “heartfelt ‘thank you’ to all the moviegoers” who have supported the industry. National Cinema Day has proven to be a massive success in its previous two editions, attracting over 6 million admissions.
This initiative continues to celebrate the enduring appeal of cinema and invites movie lovers back to theaters for an unforgettable day of entertainment.
