In a landmark move blending nostalgia with next-gen tech, Mukta Arts — the film studio founded by veteran filmmaker Subhash Ghai — has entered into a five-year strategic partnership with BharatBox to bring some of Hindi cinema’s most iconic films to life in the Metaverse.
The partnership aims to reimagine six timeless classics—’Khalnayak’, ‘Ram Lakhan’, ‘Taal, Pardes’, Aitraaz’, and ‘Karma’ —as immersive digital experiences within The Sandbox, one of the world’s leading decentralized metaverse platforms. The collaboration goes beyond traditional IP licensing and ventures into building interactive, story-driven virtual universes, gamified content, and NFT-based collectibles, allowing users to explore and own fragments of cinematic history.
These classics will be adapted into fully realized digital environments via BharatBox’s powerful ecosystem. From cinematic quests and dialogue-driven missions to limited-edition avatar collectibles, fans will be able to engage with these films in innovative, deeply interactive formats. Each film will be recreated not just as a memory but as a vibrant, playable world — whether it’s the morally grey narrative of ‘Khalnayak’ or the musical tapestry of ‘Taal’.
Speaking on the vision behind the collaboration, Rahul Puri, Managing Director of Mukta Arts, said, “Our stories have lived in theatres and in the hearts of audiences for decades. Now, it’s time they live on in the metaverse. Blockchain gaming and immersive digital experiences present an exciting frontier for storytelling—especially for a new generation of fans.”
Karan Keswani, CEO of BharatBox, added, “Mukta Arts has crafted narratives that transcend time and generations. Through this partnership, we’re not just reviving those stories—we’re creating persistent digital worlds where audiences can live them..”
