Marvel Studios has announced a new Disney+ series centered around Vision, the synthezoid hero portrayed by Paul Bettany. Set for a 2026 release, the series will be helmed by Terry Matalas, known for his work as the executive producer of ‘Star Trek: Picard’.

Paul Bettany will reprise his role as Vision, a character who has experienced significant transformations in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Vision, originally killed by Thanos in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ (2018), was brought back in the 2021 series ‘WandaVision’ where Vision appeared twice: first as a manifestation of Wanda Maximoff’s (Elizabeth Olsen) grief, and second as a rebuilt, memory-less android with a ghostly white appearance, PTI reported from Los Angeles quoting entertainment news outlet Variety.

The ‘WandaVision’ finale saw Wanda’s Vision restoring the memories of the ghost Vision before fading away himself. The upcoming series is expected to explore the ghost Vision’s journey as he seeks a new purpose in life, continuing the narrative from where ‘WandaVision’ left off.

This new Vision series marks Marvel’s first new live-action series announcement in two years, signaling a fresh direction in their storytelling approach. With Matalas at the helm, fans can anticipate a thoughtful and intriguing exploration of Vision’s character and legacy within the MCU.
