The release date of Rani Mukerji-starrer action thriller ‘Mardaani 3’ has been advanced, with Yash Raj Films deciding to bring the film to cinemas earlier than originally scheduled. The third instalment of the popular franchise will now release on January 30, instead of its earlier planned date of February 27, 2026.
According to an ANI report, the announcement was made by the makers on Saturday through their official Instagram handle, where they also unveiled a new poster of the film. The decision marks a shift in the film’s release strategy, building anticipation among fans of the franchise ahead of its theatrical run.
‘Mardaani 3’ centres on a fast-paced narrative in which time is running out as a police officer races against the clock to trace missing girls. Rani Mukerji returns to her much-loved role as police officer Shivani Shivaji Roy, who once again finds herself confronting dark and dangerous forces in her mission to protect and rescue vulnerable victims.
Earlier, Mukerji had described the film as an “edge-of-the-seat thriller,” teasing its intense tone and darker treatment. She said the third instalment would be “dark, deadly, and brutal,” setting it apart with heightened stakes and emotional intensity. The makers have also indicated that the film will showcase a violent and bloody clash between Shivani’s sense of justice and deeply sinister evil forces.
Directed by Abhiraj Minawala and produced by Aditya Chopra, ‘Mardaani 3’ continues a franchise known for tackling serious and socially relevant crimes. The first film, released in 2014, focused on human trafficking, while Mardaani 2 followed the pursuit of a violent criminal who challenged the policing system.
With its release now moved up, ‘Mardaani 3’ is set to arrive in theatres on January 30, promising another hard-hitting chapter in one of Hindi cinema’s most impactful action-thriller franchises.
