In a thrilling announcement that has already sent a chill down the spine of horror fans, Bollywood’s trio — Mahesh Bhatt, Anand Pandit and Vikram Bhatt — are reuniting for a new spine-tingling cinematic experience titled ‘Haunted 3D: Ghosts of the Past’.
The film, which marks a return to the roots of 3D horror, is set to hit theatres on 26 September 2025, IANS reported from Mumbai.
Following the eerie success of ‘1920: Horrors of the Heart’, this collaboration rekindles the magic that once redefined Indian horror. With Vikram Bhatt, the original pioneer of India’s 3D horror cinema with 2011’s ‘Haunted 3D’, back in the director’s chair, audiences can expect a mix of psychological depth, supernatural intrigue, and cutting-edge visual effects that promise to push genre boundaries.
Pandit, known for his sharp production sensibilities and a keen sense for box office hits, joins the project as producer alongside Mahesh Bhatt, the veteran storyteller who has long been celebrated for bringing emotion and realism to even the most chilling tales.
Speaking about the film, Vikram Bhatt said, “We wanted to revisit the genre that changed horror storytelling in India. With ‘Haunted 3D: Ghosts of the Past’, we’re blending nostalgia with innovation — using the emotional intensity Mahesh Bhatt is known for, and combining it with cutting-edge technology to create an unforgettable theatrical experience.”
With its theatrical release locked for September 26, 2025, ‘Haunted 3D: Ghosts of the Past’aims to resurrect India’s fascination with horror and 3D, delivering a blend of fear, thrill, and emotional storytelling that’s rarely seen in mainstream Indian cinema today.
