Maddock Films yesterday unveiled the character poster of veteran actor Dharmendra from the upcoming war drama ‘Ikkis’, describing him as a “timeless legend”. The poster offers a first glimpse of the Bollywood icon as M. L. Khetarpal in Sriram Raghavan’s much-awaited directorial.
According to a PTI report, the film is slated to hit theatres on December 25 and marks one of Dharmendra’s final on-screen appearances. The project has already drawn significant attention for bringing together an acclaimed director, a powerful true story, and multiple generations of talent.
‘Ikkis’ stars Agastya Nanda as Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, the youngest recipient of the Param Vir Chakra, whose bravery during the 1971 Indo-Pakistan war remains one of the Indian Army’s most inspirational stories. Dharmendra’s role as Khetarpal, Arun Khetarpal’s father, adds emotional weight to a narrative rooted deeply in courage, sacrifice and national pride.
The release of Dharmendra’s poster comes at a time when the veteran actor is being fondly remembered by the film fraternity and audiences. His appearance in ‘Ikkis’ has been widely anticipated, especially with the film showcasing him in a dignified and poignant role that aligns with the tone of Raghavan’s storytelling.
