In a surprising yet much-anticipated announcement, filmmaker Karan Johar unveiled his upcoming romantic comedy ‘Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri,’ starring Kartik Aaryan. This project marks the first collaboration between Johar and Aaryan, setting the stage for a promising partnership in Bollywood, PTI reported from Mumbai.
Johar shared the news on Instagram with a teaser, describing the film as “the best Christmas gift ever.” Directed by Sameer Vidwans, who previously helmed Aaryan’s 2023 blockbuster Satyaprem Ki Katha, the movie is slated for a theatrical release in 2026.
“Wrapped in romance, here comes the best Christmas gift ever from us to you! Starring Kartik Aaryan – Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri is coming to cinemas in 2026,” Johar wrote in his post.
The film will be produced by Johar’s Dharma Productions, in collaboration with Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Shareen Mantri Kedia, and Kishore Arora of Namah Pictures. The production lineup hints at a grand cinematic experience for the audience.
This collaboration comes after their earlier association for Dostana 2, announced in 2019. However, the project faced setbacks, with recasting happening in 2021 amid rumors of creative differences. With ‘Tu Meri Main Tera’, ‘Main Tera Tu Meri’, both Johar and Aaryan seem to have put the past behind them, ready to create cinematic magic.
As fans eagerly await more details, the teaser has already sparked excitement, promising a mix of romance, comedy, and compelling storytelling.
