Actor Karanvir Sharma is set to share screen space with Kajol in the second season of the acclaimed legal drama ‘The Trial’. The series, which quickly emerged as one of the most gripping titles on the Indian streaming landscape, streams on JioCinema and is an official adaptation of the American show ‘The Good Wife’.
According to a UNI report, Season 2 will deepen its narrative with fresh twists, and Sharma’s entry is expected to add a new dimension to the storyline. His character, Param Munjal, steps into the law firm with ambition, charm, and a razor-sharp strategy that could shake up the dynamics within the plot.
Speaking about the role, Karanvir said, “Param Munjal is a layered character who walks into the law firm with his set of ambitions and philosophies. He is charismatic, strategic and knows how to make his presence felt.”
While inspired by Derrick Bond from ‘The Good Wife’, Param has been reimagined to fit the Indian context. Sharma described the role as exciting and challenging, promising audiences a character that is both intriguing and impactful. “I am excited for audiences to see how his arrival impacts the overall storyline in Season 2,” he added.
With Kajol returning in the lead, the new season of ‘The Trial’ is expected to heighten its mix of drama, law and personal conflicts.
