Jio Platforms Limited has appointed Dan Bailey as its new President, entrusting him with leading the company’s international business initiatives. Based in London, Bailey will report to Akash Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited, and will join the Executive Committee of Jio Platforms, contributing more broadly across the organisation.
According to an ANI report, announcing the appointment, Ambani said Bailey has been a trusted advisor to Jio for many years and has played a valuable role in its growth journey. He highlighted Bailey’s long-standing presence at the centre of the global telecom and technology ecosystem, noting his deep relationships, strategic insight and understanding of the sector’s structural complexities.
Ambani added that Bailey shares Jio’s ambition and energy for its next phase of expansion.
Bailey brings over 35 years of experience spanning consulting and investment banking. He has held senior leadership roles at Schroders/Citi, Morgan Stanley and HSBC. Most recently, he served as Chairman of Deutsche Bank’s TMT (Technology, Media and Telecom) practice, where he advised global corporates and financial sponsors on high-profile and transformative transactions, including several landmark telecom deals.
On his appointment, Bailey said he has long admired the scale, speed and societal impact of what Jio has built in India. He described the opportunity to help take that story global as compelling and said he looks forward to working closely with Akash Ambani and the leadership team.
