Thalapathy Vijay and Bobby Deol’s much–anticipated pan-Indian political action drama ‘Jana Nayagan’ will release in Hindi under the title Jan Neta on January 9, 2026, the makers have announced.
The announcement, shared alongside a new poster that hints at an intense face-off between Vijay and Deol, sets the stage for a major theatrical release timed with the festive Pongal weekend, aiming to captivate audiences across North India and beyond.
According to an ANI report, Zee Studios has secured the film’s Hindi theatrical distribution rights and will release ‘Jan Neta’ widely across North India on the announced date. The title, translating effectively to “leader of the people,” underscores the film’s political themes and broad appeal. Promotional materials, including the newly released poster, suggest a narrative centred on power, ideology and confrontation, amplified by the chemistry between Vijay and Bobby Deol.
Directed by H. Vinoth and produced by Venkat K. Narayana under the KVN Productions banner, ‘Jan Neta’ brings together a strong ensemble cast that also includes Pooja Hegde, Mamitha Baiju, Prakash Raj, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Priyamani and Narain. The music for the project is composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
The film is highly anticipated as one of Vijay’s significant releases ahead of the new year, and industry observers have noted strong advance interest in both domestic and overseas markets. With a wide release strategy and the backing of a major distribution partner, ‘Jan Neta’ aims to build on its pan-Indian momentum and deliver a compelling theatrical experience for audiences across language markets.
