India TV-CNX Survey: BJP predicted to secure majority in Rajasthan polls

In a recent opinion poll survey conducted by India TV-CNX, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is poised to secure an absolute majority in the upcoming Rajasthan assembly elections.

The survey results, which were unveiled today, suggest a significant shift in the political landscape in the state.

According to the opinion poll projections, out of the 200 assembly seats in Rajasthan, the BJP is expected to win a remarkable 125 seats, compared to the 73 seats it held in the previous election five years ago.

In contrast, the ruling Congress party is projected to secure only 72 seats, a notable decline from the 100 seats it won in the previous election. ‘Others,’ which includes independents and regional parties, are expected to win just three seats, down from the 27 they held in 2018.

Vote share projections reveal that the BJP is likely to capture 44.92 percent of the vote, while the Congress is projected to receive 40.08 percent. ‘Others’ are expected to secure 15 percent of the vote. In the 2018 elections, the BJP secured 38.77 percent of the vote, the Congress received 39.3 percent, and ‘Others’ claimed 21.93 percent.

Region-Wise Seat Projections:

In Jaipur-Dholpur, which has 48 seats, the BJP is expected to win 28, with Congress securing 19 seats and ‘Others’ gaining one seat.

In Tonk-Kota, with 24 seats, the BJP may secure 13 seats, leaving the remaining 11 seats to Congress.

In Marwad, encompassing 56 seats, the BJP is projected to win 40 seats, while Congress is expected to secure 15 seats, and ‘Others’ may win one seat.

In Mewar, with 48 seats, the BJP may win 32 seats, while Congress is projected to win 15 seats, and one seat may go to ‘Others.’

In Shekhawati, with 24 seats, the BJP and Congress are projected to share 12 seats each.

The survey findings indicate that the current Chief Minister, Ashok Gehlot, is leading with 32.5 percent of respondents expressing a desire for him to continue in the post. He is closely followed by BJP leader Vasundhara Raje, with 26.98 percent of respondents favoring her as the next Chief Minister. Congress leader Sachin Pilot is in third place with 12.35 percent, followed by BJP leader Gajendra Singh Shekhawat with 10.07 percent. BJP leader Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore secures fifth place with 7.81 percent, while another BJP leader, Diya Kumari, is in sixth place with only 3 percent. Other leaders collectively receive 7.29 percent of the respondents’ support.

These survey results suggest a significant change in the political dynamics of Rajasthan, with the BJP emerging as the frontrunner in the upcoming assembly elections. However, it’s important to note that opinion polls are subject to change, and the actual election results may differ. The Rajasthan assembly elections are eagerly awaited to see if the predictions hold true.
