The International Advertising Association (IAA) India Chapter marked a significant milestone with the grand 10th edition of the prestigious IAA Leadership Awards.
The event, held at Mumbai’s St. Regis Hotel on August 9, celebrated outstanding accomplishments in the realms of marketing, advertising, and media. The Awards highlighted visionary leaders and their transformative contributions to their industries.
With a guest list comprising over 400 distinguished individuals from marketing, advertising, and media, the evening was a testimony to the exceptional achievements of the award recipients.
As per a press release, the Awards were distributed across 15 diverse categories, encompassing sectors such as automobiles, financial services, FMCG, E-commerce, and more. These categories showcased the impressive breadth of innovative contributions shaping the industry’s landscape.
A notable highlight was the recognition of Adar Poonawalla, CEO of Serum Institute of India, as the IAA Business Leader of the Year 2023. Poonawalla’s instrumental role in advancing India’s healthcare capabilities, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, earned him this prestigious title. His visionary leadership, revolutionary vaccine production, and significant societal contributions were commended.
Upon receiving the award, Adar Poonawalla expressed humility, acknowledging the collective effort that contributed to his achievements. He emphasized the importance of national cooperation during challenging times.
Rajdeepak Das, CEO & CCO of Leo Burnett South Asia and Chairperson of Creative Council, Publicis Groupe India, was honored as the IAA Creative Agency Leader of the Year for his innovative campaigns that pushed creative boundaries.
Ajay Gupte, CEO – South Asia from Wavemaker, secured the IAA Media Agency Leader of the Year title for his strategic navigation through the evolving media landscape. Atideb Sarkar, Chief Editor and Publisher of the ABP Group, received the IAA Media Person of the Year award, recognizing his significant contributions to the media industry.
The event also celebrated the prowess of actor Ajay Devgan and Kiara Advani, crowned IAA Brand Endorsers of the Year, male and female categories respectively, for their impactful brand representation.
Additionally, media veteran Dr. Bhaskar Das was inducted into the esteemed IAA Hall of Fame for his lasting impact on the media landscape.
Avinash Pandey, President of IAA India Chapter, expressed the event’s role in inspiring and motivating professionals while Nandini Dias, Chairperson of IAA Leadership Awards, emphasized the awards as a celebration of thought leadership and innovation.
The event was graced by prominent partners including Diageo, Tata Group, Times Network, and Titan Company Limited.
