The much-awaited trailer of ‘Housefull 5’ has finally dropped, and it’s everything fans of the franchise could ask for — over-the-top humour, high-stakes drama, a quirky whodunit twist, and a star-studded ensemble bringing madness to the big screen. The film promises a throwback to Akshay Kumar’s vintage comedy era, packed with slapstick charm and larger-than-life storytelling.
As reported by IANS, the trailer opens with a sweeping shot of a luxury cruise gliding across an endless ocean. The narration begins in Nana Patekar’s unmistakable voice, introducing the character of Ranjit, who is announcing his will worth a staggering 69 billion pounds. The inheritance is to be handed over to someone named “Jolly” — but chaos breaks out when not one, but three Jollys emerge, each claiming to be the rightful heir. What follows is a madcap race for fortune, leading to a sudden murder that turns the film into a comedic murder mystery.
The film stars Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, and Abhishek Bachchan in pivotal roles, alongside a staggering list of 19 actors that include Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonam Bajwa, Nargis Fakhri, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Nana Patekar, Chitrangada Singh, Fardeen Khan, Chunky Pandey, Johnny Lever, Shreyas Talpade, Dino Morea, Ranjeet, Soundarya Sharma, Nikitin Dheer and Akashdeep Sabir.
True to its franchise roots, ‘Housefull 5’ brims with throwbacks, inside jokes, and meta references — one being Jackie Shroff’s tongue-in-cheek line, “Chhoti bacchi hai kya?”, nodding to his son Tiger Shroff’s viral dialogue from ‘Heropanti’.
Shot across international locations including London, France, and Spain, the film’s glamour and grandeur are set against the backdrop of a floating luxury cruise.
Directed by Tarun Mansukhani and produced under the banner of Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, ‘Housefull 5’ is scheduled to hit theatres worldwide on June 6, 2025.
