Gurmeet won the trophy and a cash award of Rs. 100,000, while Gurjant Singh from Gurdaspur became the first runner-up, followed by second runner-up Manav from Batala.
Opening the doors of talent and embarking on new ways of success, the biggest reality singing show of Punjab, ‘Voice of Punjab-S12’ saw some fab contestants and talents from across India who participated in the show, a press release from PTC said.
Starting off with online registration followed by walk-in auditions, the show had eight rounds, including Own choice, Popular song, Jodi Round, Celebs choice, etc.
The talent was chosen and screened through all rounds by the esteemed judges — renowned playback singer Dr. Master Saleem, ace music director Gurmeet Singh, veteran artist Amar Noorie and popular playback singer Mannat Noor.
The finale of ‘Voice of Punjab-S12’ was grand in every way possible with some splendid performances by Afsana Khan and Sunanda Sharma. Other than these, Bollywood playback singer Kamal Khan and legendary singer-cum Member of Parliament Padam Shri Hansraj Hans ji graced the show with his soulful live performance, while heaping praise on the winner Singh.
“Our philosophy this season was to be able to convey that talent can change the course of your life —Chalo zindagi de sur badaliye — and we hope we will be able to change some lives forever by putting limelight on these talented singers who lack a platform to showcase their talent while creating opportunities for them,” Rabindra Narayan, M.D and President, PTC Network, said.
The winner of this S12 Gurmeet beat 20 finalists to win the biggest singing competition of Punjab. Expressing gratitude, Gurmeet said, “The competition has been very tough but it has definitely opened wider doors for me to explore and shine. It has been a great learning experience, which will take me to new heights. ‘Voice Of Punjab 12’ has been the biggest contribution in my career”.
This year’s theme ‘Chalo Zindagi De Sur Badaliye’ promised a sea of opportunities to the most aspiring singers across Punjab and witnessed great response from the audiences who actively participated from neighbouring states like Haryana, Jammu, Delhi and Bihar.
While the winner pocketed a cash prize of Rs. one lakh (Rs. 100,000), Gurjant won a cash prize of Rs. 50,000 and second runner-up Manav got Rs. 25,000.
