Gujarati show ‘Mom Tane Nai Samjay’ to stream on ShemarooMe

After a successful theatrical run earlier this year, ShemarooMe is bringing the Gujarati family drama ‘Mom Tane Nai Samjay’ to digital screens, premiering on the platform from July 24. Directed by Dharmessh Mehta, the film stars Rashami Desai, Amar Upadhyay, Tejal Vyas, and Hemang Dave in pivotal roles.

Set against the backdrop of a modern Indian family living abroad, ‘Mom Tane Nai Samjay’ follows the emotional journey of Aashka, a devoted mother who is both the anchor and the unseen thread holding her family together. Played with nuanced grace by Rashami Desai, Aashka’s unconditional love for her family often goes unnoticed — seen by her children as interference, and by her husband as excessive worry.

But when Aashka chooses to take a step back, her absence becomes a wake-up call. Her family begins to recognise not just her contributions, but also the silent emotional labour that often goes unnoticed in the daily hustle of family life.

Speaking about the role, Rashami Desai said, “As an actor, I’ve always looked for scripts that challenge me emotionally and creatively. Playing Aashka — a character so deeply rooted in selfless love—was one such experience. This role gave me the opportunity to explore the internal world of a mother who gives everything and expects nothing in return.”

She added, “A mother is the heart of every household. Her journey is often one of sacrifice, resilience, and strength. Aashka represents countless women who make conscious decisions to put family first, without ever compromising on their integrity or emotional intelligence.”

Desai also praised the collaborative process with director Dharmessh Mehta and the film’s talented ensemble cast, calling the project “close to all our hearts.” She expressed her gratitude to ShemarooMe for giving the film a wider platform, especially one known for its strong curation of Gujarati content.

With its universal message and emotionally resonant storytelling, ‘Mom Tane Nai Samjay promises to be more than just a film—it’s a tribute to every mother whose quiet strength holds families together. The film urges viewers to reflect on the small gestures of care that often go unacknowledged, and perhaps to express gratitude more openly.
