Google is expanding its AI-powered search feature, AI Mode, to Hindi-speaking users worldwide, making it easier than ever to ask in-depth questions in Hindi and receive comprehensive answers—even for complex queries.
According to IANS, this update extends AI Mode beyond English, enabling users to interact in Hindi with Google’s most advanced search capabilities. Powered by a custom version of the Gemini 2.5 model, AI Mode now delivers locally contextual, culturally relevant responses. The feature supports multimodal inputs—including text, voice, or images—allowing users to engage naturally and intuitively.
Hema Budaraju, Vice President of Product Management for Search, commented: “We’re thrilled to bring AI Mode to Hindi users around the world. It allows people to ask complex questions in their native language and receive meaningful, nuanced answers. With Gemini 2.5’s multimodal reasoning capabilities, we’re ensuring Search is not just translated, but deeply locally relevant.” She added that AI Mode simplifies searches that previously required multiple queries by understanding context and nuance.
Users can now pose complex requests—like planning a monsoon garden with night-blooming flowers, providing tailored suggestions based on images and preferences, and asking follow-up questions naturally. For instance, one could upload an image of their balcony and ask what fragrant, night-blooming plants would thrive there, and AI Mode will deliver customized, context-aware guidance.
This marked rollout follows AI Mode’s successful launch in English across more than 180 countries. Besides Hindi, the feature has also expanded to Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, and Brazilian Portuguese, furthering Google’s push toward globally inclusive AI search capabilities.
With this development, Google reinforces its strategy of delivering intelligent, conversational search experiences in users’ preferred languages—moving beyond mere translation and understanding real-world contexts deeply.
