Google has introduced a revamped version of its ‘Arts & Culture’ app for Android, with plans to roll out the update for iOS soon.
The company shared in a blog post that the Google Arts & Culture platform, enriched by contributions from over 3,000 global partners, offers a space for individuals to explore diverse cultural contributions and their interconnectedness through a cultural lens.
The new mobile app enhancements enhance accessibility and user experience. The browsing options now include artefacts, cultural stories, partner collections, and more. Users can further refine their exploration through dimensions like place, topic, and creator, IANS reported from SanFrancisco.
The app also introduces an “cultural flywheel” for discovering unexpected cultural connections, while the “Inspire feed” offers a daily dose of cultural highlights. A new “Play” tab facilitates viewing art from fresh perspectives, incorporating tools like Art Selfie and Art Filter.
In addition, Google unveiled a new interactive feature called “Poem Postcards.” This playful experience prompts users to select an artwork and create an AI-generated poem, using Google’s PaLM 2 Model, with options like sonnets, haikus, and limericks.
The Poem Postcards experience is available in select countries through the ‘Play’ Tab on the Google Arts & Culture website and app, adding a creative twist to artistic engagement.
