Gameskraft, one of India’s leading skill-based gaming companies, has announced a strategic pause in the operations of its online Poker platform, Pocket52. The decision, the company said, is a calculated move as part of its long-term vision to revamp and elevate its offerings in the growing online Poker space.
Pocket52, which was launched by Gameskraft to deliver a more immersive and differentiated Poker experience, is considered by the company as a key pillar in its diversified gaming portfolio. In a statement, Gameskraft reiterated its commitment to the Poker category and said the temporary halt is aimed at realigning the platform to better serve the evolving needs of the player community, The Economic Times reported.
“Poker continues to remain a strategic category for us. This pause allows us the opportunity to strengthen the product and come back with an offering that truly raises the bar in user engagement and gameplay,” the company stated.
Launched with the intent to tap into the rising interest in online card games, Pocket52 sought to create a secure and skill-centric environment for Poker players in India. However, amid intensifying competition and evolving regulatory frameworks in the online gaming space, Gameskraft appears to be taking a proactive step towards reimagining its Poker strategy.
While the company has not disclosed a timeline for Pocket52’s relaunch, it has assured that its core focus will remain on delivering high-quality, skill-based games that meet compliance standards and user expectations. The move is seen as part of Gameskraft’s broader effort to consolidate its market leadership and enhance player trust in the skill gaming ecosystem.
Industry watchers say this strategic pause signals a more innovation-led future for Poker platforms in India, especially at a time when user experience, fair play, and regulatory clarity are shaping the next phase of the country’s gaming boom.
