Firstpost is set to launch ‘International Foodie’, a new food show hosted by British presenter Joshua Barnes, exploring the stories, people and cultural influences behind some of India’s most iconic dining destinations.
The show will premiere on October 17, 2026, and air every weekend at 10 am. Produced under Flaunt, Firstpost’s premium luxury vertical, the series aims to offer a fresh perspective on India’s culinary landscape through the lens of an international host.
Rather than focusing solely on menus and popular dishes, ‘International Foodie’ will explore the histories, personalities and culinary traditions that have shaped India’s best-known restaurants. Barnes will meet chefs and industry visionaries, go behind the scenes to understand the craft behind signature dishes, and investigate how certain dining destinations have evolved into cultural institutions.
The series will examine the intersection of food, history, power and culture, looking beyond the hype surrounding popular restaurants to uncover the stories and traditions that sustain their reputations.
Speaking about the show, Binoy Prabhakar, Chief Content Officer at Firstpost, said food offers a way to understand a culture and its history.
“Food is one of the most revealing ways to understand a culture. International Foodie with Joshua Barnes goes beyond the plate to explore the people, histories and ideas that make India’s most iconic dining destinations what they are,” Prabhakar said.
He added that Barnes brings an international perspective to the stories, highlighting the craftsmanship, character and cultural significance of restaurants that have become institutions.
“It is a celebration of India’s culinary heritage, told through the stories that make it extraordinary,” he said.
With its focus on the people behind the food, the traditions that shape dining experiences and the stories rarely seen by restaurant patrons, ‘International Foodie’ seeks to offer viewers a deeper understanding of India’s diverse food culture.
The show will premiere on Firstpost on October 17, with new episodes airing every weekend at 10 am.
