The fifth edition of the Jammu Film Festival has received an encouraging response from filmmakers around the world, with 180 film entries from 35 countries submitted so far, organisers announced yesterday.

According to a PTI report, the festival has attracted a diverse mix of films, including 130 short films, 35 documentaries and 17 feature films. The submissions represent different cultures, languages and storytelling styles, highlighting the festival’s growing international recognition.

The organisers said more films are expected to be submitted before the July 31 deadline, which means the total number of entries is likely to increase in the coming weeks.

The 5th Jammu Film Festival will be held on September 28 and 29 in Jammu.

The two day event will showcase selected films from India and abroad and provide a platform for filmmakers to present their work to audiences, critics and industry professionals.

Over the years, the Jammu Film Festival has emerged as an important platform for independent and regional cinema while also attracting international participation.

This year’s strong global response reflects the festival’s growing reputation among filmmakers worldwide. The organisers said the festival aims to promote meaningful storytelling, encourage cultural exchange and create opportunities for filmmakers from different countries to connect through cinema.
