FIFA has extended its global partnership with Visa, with the payments company continuing as the Official Payment Technology Partner and remaining at the highest tier across FIFA competitions worldwide.

The long-term renewal, announced yesterday, strengthens one of football’s longest-running commercial partnerships, which began with the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2007.

Under the renewed agreement, Visa will continue to provide innovative payment technologies and exclusive access opportunities for fans across FIFA events, including the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027, FIFA World Cup 2030, youth tournaments and the FIFAe Finals.

The extension, according to a joint press release, follows Visa’s involvement at the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 and the FIFA World Cup 2026, where it supported fan engagement through bespoke activations and global initiatives.

FIFA said the partnership will also extend to the FIFA Women’s World Cup Brazil 2027, the first edition of the tournament to be staged in South America, as both organisations seek to build on the momentum generated by recent competitions.

“Visa has been an integral partner to FIFA for nearly two decades,” said FIFA Chief Business Officer Romy Gai, adding, “This renewed agreement reflects a shared ambition to innovate, inspire and bring fans closer to the game on the biggest stages in world sport.”

Visa Chief Marketing Officer Frank Cooper III said the partnership would continue to create new opportunities for fans and players alike.

“Visa and FIFA will expand the possibilities for rich fan experiences and player aspirations through our long-standing partnership,” he said.

“We both recognise that FIFA’s global tournaments not only create massive cultural moments, they generate commerce through ‘pop-up economies’ that allow Visa to help energise entire cities, driving growth and connecting communities,” Cooper added.

The renewed deal comes as FIFA and Visa prepare to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their association, underlining a shared commitment to growing the game and enhancing the fan experience across global football competitions.
