Abilasha Anish has been appointed as the Head of Marketing for Disney+ Hotstar (South) and Star Vijay, expanding her portfolio to include additional responsibilities for Disney+ Hotstar Telugu.
Anish, who previously held the position of Marketing Director at the company, brings a wealth of experience to her new role.
Announcing her new role on her LinkedIn profile, Anish expressed her excitement, stating, “I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Head – Marketing for Disney+ Hotstar (South) & Star Vijay at Disney Star!”
Prior to this appointment, Anish was responsible for overseeing marketing initiatives for Disney+ Hotstar Tamil and Malayalam, as well as managing the Star Vijay cluster channels. Her association with Disney Star spans nearly five years, dating back to 2019. Before joining Disney Star, Anish served as the Head of Brand Strategy & Marketing at The Hindu from 2016 to 2019, showcasing her expertise in strategic planning and brand management.
Anish’s professional journey also includes roles as Account Director – Strategic Planning at FCB Interface, Senior Manager – Brand & Media at Butterfly, and positions at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and The Times Group, among others. With a diverse background in marketing, communication, strategy, and consumer behavior across various media and advertising platforms, Anish brings a valuable skill set to her new leadership role at Disney+ Hotstar (South) & Star Vijay.
Her appointment underscores Disney Star’s commitment to enhancing its marketing efforts and strengthening its presence in the South Indian entertainment market. With Anish at the helm, Disney+ Hotstar and Star Vijay are poised to continue delivering engaging content experiences to audiences across the region.
