Acclaimed South Korean director Lee Jung-hyo, best known for the global hit ‘Crash Landing on You’, is set to return to the romance genre with a new series titled ‘Long Vacation’ for Netflix.
According to a Netflix press release, the upcoming show is described as a supernatural love story set against the backdrop of a seaside hotel, promising a blend of romance and mystery — an area the director has previously excelled in.
The series will feature actors Choo Young-woo and Lee Se-young in lead roles, bringing together fresh on-screen chemistry for what is expected to be a visually rich and emotionally layered narrative.
Joining Lee Jung-hyo behind the scenes is writer Jung Hyun-jung, a seasoned name in the Korean romance space. Her previous work includes popular titles such as ‘I Need Romance’, ‘Lovestruck in the City’, ‘Romance Is a Bonus Book’ and ‘Discovery of Love’, all of which have contributed to her reputation for crafting nuanced, relationship-driven storytelling.
While further details around the plot and release timeline remain under wraps, the collaboration between Lee and Jung signals a strong creative pairing, raising expectations among fans of Korean dramas and global streaming audiences alike.
With Netflix continuing to expand its Korean content slate, ‘Long Vacation’ adds to its growing lineup of romance-driven series aimed at international viewers.
