After much anticipation, Dharma Productions has officially announced the release date of ‘Dhadak 2’, the sequel to its 2018 romantic drama ‘Dhadak’. The film, starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Tripti Dimri in lead roles, is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on August 1, 2025.
As per a UNI report, ‘Dhadak 2’ has been helmed by debutante director Shazia Iqbal and marks a fresh chapter in the romantic drama franchise. The original film had introduced audiences to Ishaan Khatter and Janhvi Kapoor, and was a Hindi remake of the Marathi hit ‘Sairat’. With the sequel, Dharma appears to be taking a new narrative direction while retaining the emotionally intense tone of the first film.
Producer Karan Johar unveiled the first look posters of the film on social media, setting off a wave of excitement among fans. The posters feature Siddhant Chaturvedi in a rugged, brooding avatar, while Tripti Dimri stares intensely into the lens, promising a story that’s layered with passion, conflict, and depth. The dramatic visuals hint at a gripping tale that goes beyond a conventional love story.
Sharing the posters on Instagram, Karan Johar wrote, “If you have to choose between death and fight, it is better to fight.” The line appears to reflect the film’s central theme, suggesting a powerful narrative rooted in struggle, love, and resilience.
While plot details remain tightly under wraps, the casting of Siddhant and Tripti—both celebrated for their intense and nuanced performances—has sparked intrigue among cinema lovers. With a new directorial voice and a bold visual tone, ‘Dhadak 2’ is shaping up to be more than just a sequel; it promises a story that stands on its own feet.
