Fictional detective Detective Boomrah is stepping out of the digital world and onto the stage for the first time. Storyteller, actor and filmmaker Sudhanshu Rai will present ‘Detective Boomrah Live’ at HorrorCon 2026 on November 1 at NSIC Grounds, Okhla, New Delhi.
The live performance will take place in the festival’s Geek Zone, marking the character’s first live storytelling appearance. The show will bring Boomrah’s mysteries to a live audience through dramatic narration, suspense and audience engagement, offering fans a new way to experience the fictional detective’s world.
Created by Rai, Detective Boomrah has featured in more than 25 cases involving supernatural occurrences, parallel universes, time travel and unexplained phenomena. The character has developed a following among audiences interested in mystery, science fiction and supernatural thrillers.
Boomrah has also expanded beyond digital storytelling into screen adaptations. ‘Detective Boomrah’ and the ‘Missing Man’ was adapted into an OTT web series, while Rai has recently unveiled the first look of the upcoming ‘Detective Boomrah’ and the ‘Killer’, which is slated for release soon.
The upcoming live performance will further expand the fictional universe beyond its digital and OTT formats. Through narration and dramatic storytelling, the show will present a case as it unfolds before the audience, allowing viewers to experience the suspense in real time.
Speaking about the live debut, Sudhanshu Rai said Detective Boomrah has always explored mysteries that challenge people’s understanding of reality, from supernatural phenomena to parallel universes and time travel. He added that bringing the character to HorrorCon would provide an opportunity to create an immersive storytelling experience in which the suspense unfolds in front of a live audience.
Divay Agarwal, founder of Khooni Monday and HorrorCon India, said Detective Boomrah had built a strong connection with audiences who enjoy mystery and the unexplained. He added that the festival was excited to bring Rai’s distinctive storytelling to HorrorCon and give fans an opportunity to experience the character live.
HorrorCon brings together fans of horror, mystery, fantasy and pop culture through its Halloween-themed festival. The addition of ‘Detective Boomrah Live’ will introduce a live storytelling element to this year’s programme, bringing the character’s fictional mysteries to the stage.
HorrorCon 2026 will take place on November 1 at NSIC Grounds, Okhla, New Delhi. Tickets for the event are available on SkillBox.
