American streaming giant Hulu has renewed its comedy series ‘Deli Boys’ for a second season, bringing back the story of two Pakistani-American brothers caught between grief, crime and family legacy.
The announcement comes after the show earned critical acclaim for its sharp writing, cultural representation and a mix of humour with drama. According to a PTI report, the series, which premiered earlier this year, quickly built a dedicated audience for its fresh take on immigrant family struggles against the backdrop of America’s underworld.
Starring Asif Ali and Saagar Shaikh in the lead roles, ‘Deli Boys’ follows the lives of two brothers whose world is turned upside down after the sudden death of their wealthy father. In the aftermath, they are confronted with his hidden criminal empire and are reluctantly drawn into his dangerous dealings. Actor Poorna Jagannathan plays their late father’s trusted confidante, adding depth and intrigue to the narrative.
With its renewal, fans can expect more twists in the brothers’ journey as they wrestle with identity, responsibility and survival, all while trying to hold onto fragments of normalcy. The series has been lauded for weaving in cultural nuances while keeping its storytelling sharp and entertaining, making it a rare standout in Hulu’s comedy line-up.
The second season of ‘Deli Boys’ is expected to go into production soon, though an official release date has yet to be announced.
