Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone is set to receive a star on the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame. The honour places her among the most celebrated names in global entertainment and marks what could be the first time an Indian actor is officially felicitated with this distinction.
According to a PTI report, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce—responsible for administering the Walk of Fame—announced the news on its official Instagram handle on Wednesday night. The post confirmed the names of a new group of entertainment professionals selected across categories such as Motion Pictures, Television, Live Theatre/Live Performance, Radio, Recording, and Sports Entertainment. Padukone features in the prestigious list under the Motion Pictures category.
“A new group of entertainment professionals in the categories of Motion Pictures, Television, Live Theatre/Live Performance, Radio, Recording, and Sports Entertainment have been selected to receive stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame by the Walk of Fame Selection Panel of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce,” the statement read.
The honour adds yet another global feather to Deepika’s cap. Over the years, she has steadily made her mark on international platforms—from being a jury member at the Cannes Film Festival to starring in the Hollywood film ‘xXx: Return of Xander Cage’ opposite Vin Diesel. Her inclusion in the Walk of Fame list underscores her rising global influence and the growing international recognition of Indian talent.
