With a clear aim to widen global reach and spread India’s perspectives on international developments, Doordarshan (DD) India has hopped on to the YuppTV platform.
The agreement with the Atlanta-headquartered OTT platform will get DD India, pubcaster Doordarshan’s international TV channel, access into several geographical markets like the USA, the UK, Europe, Middle East, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand
In a statement, DD’s parent Prasar Bhararti said the YuppTv deal was initiated to “expand the global reach of DD India channel, to put forth India’s perspective on various international developments on global platforms and to showcase India’s culture and values to the world”.
DD India, Prasar Bharati’s international channel, is India’s window to the world. The channel through its various programmes offers international viewers India’s perspective on all domestic and global developments. Available in more than 190 countries, DD India also acts as a bridge between India and Indian diaspora spread across the world, the statement elaborated.
One of the popular shows based on in-depth analysis and research is ‘Bio-Quest’, which deals with the origin of COVID-19, vaccine development and other scientific discoveries related to COVID. Some of the other high-viewership shows on the channel are ‘India Ideas’, ‘World Today’, ‘Indian Diplomacy’, ‘DD Dialogue’, and ‘News Night’.
YuppTV has made access to several Indian TV channels easy and cost effective for viewers across the globe.
The content hosting agreement was signed by Prasar Bharati CEO Shashi Shekhar Vempati and YuppTV Founder & CEO Uday Reddy.
