According to a PTI report yesterday, the film is being helmed by Kitao Sakurai, the director known for ‘Bad Trip’ and ‘Aardvark’. With this casting, Dastmalchian steps into the role of one of the most feared characters in the ‘Street Fighter’ universe: M Bison, the ruthless leader of the criminal syndicate Shadaloo. The character is infamous for orchestrating global schemes involving arms trafficking, mind control experiments, and a bid for world domination.
The 49-year-old actor has carved a niche in portraying complex and often menacing characters, making him a fitting choice for the role. His performance as Polka-Dot Man in ‘The Suicide Squad’ and recurring presence in the ‘Ant-Man’ franchise have earned him a reputation for adding depth and quirk to antagonistic roles.
