CNN-News18 and News18 India have once again reinforced their leadership in the Indian news broadcasting space, with the latest BARC data confirming their supremacy across English and Hindi news segments.
According to the ratings, CNN-News18 continues to dominate the English news genre with a commanding 38.8 percent market share, leaving competitors NDTV 24×7 and Times Now far behind at 23.8 percent and 17.0 percent respectively. The channel has been consistently holding the number one spot since the resumption of BARC ratings in March 2022, making it a frontrunner with no serious challenge in sight. This report is based on a press release issued by the network.
The steady performance of CNN-News18 reflects its credibility and ability to deliver accurate, timely and impactful journalism that resonates with viewers. Week after week, the channel has managed to maintain a stronghold, cementing itself as the first choice for English news audiences in the country.
Meanwhile, News18 India has retained its position as the most-watched Hindi news channel. As per the latest BARC numbers, the channel recorded an AMA of 77,918, while its closest rival Aaj Tak trailed at 74,546 AMA. (Source: BARC | Metric: Avg. The channel attributes its strong viewership to its engaging programming and popular news anchors including Kishore Ajwani, Amish Devgan, Rubika Liyaquat, Prateek Trivedi, and Aman Chopra, backed by an extensive network of reporters providing nationwide coverage.
CNN-News18 and News18 India are both part of the News18 Network, which has consistently invested in editorial resources, technology and international partnerships to ensure the fastest, most accurate, and wide-reaching news coverage. With this, the network has successfully positioned itself as India’s largest omni-channel news platform, far ahead of competition in both English and Hindi segments.
